Leading telecoms and digital services company PLDT’s wholly owned subsidiary PLDT Global Corporation (PGC) is partnering with the Junior Chamber International Manila (JCI Manila) in hosting this year’s Growth Opportunities for Overseas Filipino Workers (GO-OFW) JCI Connect Seminar on June 16 in Jeju Island, South Korea. This is the first in a series of seminars by JCI Manila and PGC for this year.

“We are excited to support JCI Manila as they help OFWs expand their knowledge on important life skills to help them provide better lives for their families back home,” said Albert Villa-Real, Chief Commercial Officer at PGC. “This is just one of many ways that PLDT and PGC are helping empower and open up opportunities for overseas Filipinos wherever they are in the world,” added Villa-Real.

The lineup of speakers includes Atty. Dino S. de Leon, director of the Ate Rica’s Bacsilog franchise; Prof. Mark Lester Toribio, motivational speaker and professor at the University of Santo Tomas; and Timothy Syquiatco, licensed stock trader at Papa Securities Corporation and PRC licensed real estate broker.

“The goal of this free seminar is to expand awareness of overseas Filipinos while providing them with holistic growth opportunities in different fields from finance to leadership. Together with our partners at PLDT Global, we will show our OFWs that there is support from back home by mentoring the participants about Philippine labor laws, business, and present franchising opportunities for our kababayans,” said Luis Angelo Sevilla, President at JCI Manila.

This event is also made possible by the Jeju Naomi Center, an organization of overseas Filipino workers based in Jeju Island.

GO-OFW JCI Connect seminars are also scheduled to be held in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and other countries this year.
