Julie Parcasio is a 39-year-old single mother who works as a domestic helper in Hong Kong. Her son, 15-year-old Jeerhyll, graduated from the 10th grade from Malinta National High School, but she was not able to come home and celebrate this achievement with him.
“My son, he’s very independent. I can say that he deserves a treat because he studies hard and he is also mindful of his duties at home,” Parcasio wrote in Filipino. “I don’t know how he would celebrate because my trip back home got cancelled, and I feel like I can’t do anything about it because I am far away.”
